To provide direction in comprehensive planning for residential and economic development, and for the future growth of Zanesville; to research funding sources that can provide financial assistance to help implement the City’s comprehensive planning efforts whether initiated by Community Development or other departments.
Standard Services Provided
Comprehensive planning; administration of the City’s Zoning Code; Assistance to four City Planning boards (Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Design Review Board and Downtown Design Review Board) and the Shade Tree committee; administer City’s Community Development Block Grant Program, CDBG funded housing rehabilitation program, CDBG funded Revolving Loan Fund program for economic development within the City’s limits.

GIS (geographic information system) computer planning; city maps and neighborhood mapping; computer database development; neighborhood planning with community groups.
