Recycling Tips

Cans: Food/Beverage

Rinse them thoroughly, remove the lid (or tuck it into can) so that the handlers will not cut themselves. Crush the cans, when possible, to conserve space.

Do Not Include

  • Aerosol cans
  • Automotive products cans
  • Paint cans
  • Scrap metal

Glass: Green/Brown/Clear

These are food and beverage bottles and jars. Remove all foreign materials, such as soil, lids, caps, bottle rings. Rinse and place them into the container. Please do not break the glass.

Do Not Include

  • Ceramics
  • Chemical containers
  • China
  • Dishware
  • Drinking glasses
  • Light bulbs
  • Mirrors
  • Window glass

Plastic Types 1 & 2

  • Fabric softener
  • Laundry detergent
  • Milk and beverage containers

Remove all caps, rinse containers, and smash them to conserve space. Currently we can recycle Types 1 and 2, usually indicated on the container.

  • Antifreeze containers
  • Buckets
  • Flower flats
  • Oil
  • Peanut butter
  • Toys
  • Wide mouth containers

Newspapers, Cardboard, Office Papers

  • Catalogs
  • Fabric softener
  • Laundry detergent
  • Magazines
  • Milk and beverage containers
  • News Inserts
  • Phone book
